Saved

Silence
As the dust clouds settle
Trapped
Alone
Within the twisted broken metal.
A wail
Like a mother
Crying for her babe
Or a wolf (death)
Calling others to his prey.
Time
A second
Feels like an hour
A minute
More so a day.
Lights
Bringing hope into this self induced tomb.
Voices
Orders,
Piercing the night loud and clear
Assurance,
Pushing back the wolf,
Lessening the fear.
Metal ripping
Breaking the hold,
POP
Hollow
Echoing through the air
So cold.
Hands
Reaching
So warm and caring
Angels, giving of themselves,
Their lives they are sharing.
And emerging,
From Death's own womb
Angels delivering a Mother's child
Saved
From that ominous doom.
